OMD Field Trip

Our Fieldtrip to OMD Advertising Agency

Armed with our presentation boards, and braving the -17 degree temperatures, we boarded the CTA downtown for our first visit with OMD advertising agency.

We were warmly greeted by Emily, Loretta, and Lyndsay who gave us an overview of the agency, clients, and past work. The agency then gave us a tour of their 19th and 21st floor offices, followed by presentations of "An Assistant's Life".

It was then the students' time to shine as they presented their projects to a conference room of 45+ employees. Although the agency asked several challenging questions, the students impressively were able to answer with confidence. For many students this was the highlight of the trip.

After all the groups presented, lunch was served. This was a great opportunity for the students and agency employees to get to know one another.

We then broke out for more sessions. Emily and Jamie lead us in creative brainstorming sessions where students and employees worked together. Groups worked to create target audience and creative opportunites for a case study to increase sales for the Big Mac. Students then presented their ideas to the larger group.

As our brainstorming sessions came to a close, Emily and Ms. Schwartzbach presented our next project brief; our class will be creating a real advertising campaign for Clemente High School.
